The Meaning of Life!
Philosophy is the last refuge of that endless search and effort to add worthwhileness - value for money - for those passing moments we spend.
We could just be materialistic, and try to own as much property we can before reaching our final destination. Alternatively, we could be experiential, and try to get the most highs before we are laid down low. Some try to be the most altruistic, ahh, the sweet things people will say when they're gone. Then there are those, the pious ones, who try to score God points, in a faint hope they won't dare to question, that one day they will wake up in heaven, and get to enjoy all the pleasures that passed them by during their waking days. Philosophers want to own an explanation, a theory, to understand life, to create the formula for living.
What is the meaning of air? It is quite useful stuff for sure, breathing and the like, but that's not the same thing as meaning is it?
